The CAAT Universities Network exists to provide students and staff in higher education with information on arms companies' ties to universities and to encourage them to actively campaign and participate in breaking these ties.

Disruption at London Graduate Fair

Activists protested the presence of arms companies BAE Systems and Raytheon at the London Graduate Fair this week. Outraged at the presence of BAE Systems and Raytheon at the event, activists aimed to both disrupt the smooth running of the BAE stall and to inform students about the companies.

Warwick students protest at their careers fair

Demonstration at Edinburgh University Careers Fair

BAE Systems protest at Lancaster campus

Lancaster University students recently protested a BAE Conference held on their campus. Despite the secrecy surrounding the event, (the students only found out about it by chance), they were able to show BAE that they are not welcome on Lancaster campus.

Manchester ‘die-in’ sees off BAE

Students at Manchester University sent arms company BAE packing after a protest at a BAE workshop.

Students informed others about BAE before holding a ‘die-in’ outside the event room. Students lay, as if dead, on the ground holding tombstone shaped placards which displayed information about the arms trade.

Spreading the word about BAE on Kent campus

Students set out to counter the slick image presented by BAE at their careers stall, by providing information on the company’s activities. The importance of this was demonstrated by the numbers of students who were unaware of what BAE actually does.

Many Exeter Student Societies Call For Ban On Arms Companies on Campus

The presidents of a host of student societies called for arms companies to be banned from the Exeter campus. When the arms companies did attend a careers fair, they were met by biohazard suit-clad protesters and a spoof ‘arms company’ stall.

Anti-BAE campaign begins at Warwick University

The Weapons out of Warwick group are getting involved in CAAT’s Ban BAE campaign.  Students are determined that BAE will be met with protest whenever they come to campus, and that students be fully informed about the career decisions that they make.
