Student Union Commitment To Campaign On University Arms Trade Investment

The Swansea Student Union has passed a motion to campaign against their University having shares in the arms trade, specifically targeting current shares in Cobham and BAE Systems.

Lancaster University Student Union ethical investment motion passed

York University Student Union votes against arms shares

On the 6th December an overwhelming majority passed a motion to mandate York University Students Union to engage in a sustained campaign on ethical investment.

The inadequacy of the University’s current policy is highlighted in the motion – York Uni holds 115000 direct shares in BAE Systems, as revealed by CAAT’s University Clean Investment Campaign.
